OBJECTIVES

Legal Services rendered at the legal aid clinic shall be wide-ranging in nature. Besides legal advice, other services like preparing applications for job card under the MGNREGA Scheme, liaison with the government offices and public authorities, and helping the common people who come to the clinic for solving their problems with the officials, authorities, and other institutions also shall form part of the legal services in the legal aid clinic (the list given is only indicative, not exhaustive). Legal aid clinics shall work as a single-window facility for helping the disadvantaged people to solve their problems where the operation of law comes into the picture. The Virtual Legal Aid Cell of Kartavyam aims to realize the cherished Constitutional ideal of the Right to Legal Aid to the poor and weaker sections of the society to promote justice on the basis of equal opportunity. The Virtual Legal Aid Cell formulated by Kartavyam will operate PAN-India and will work towards achieving the following objectives:

1. To provide legal representation to the weak and marginalized sections of the society in whatever manner required across the country.

2. To provide free legal aid in all the courts of the country, right from the lowest court to the apex court.

3. To advance the state of human rights in the country by undertaking Public Interest Litigation.

4. To conduct various legal awareness programs like lectures, seminars, and workshops to impart knowledge among the society about their rights.

5. To impart knowledge about various welfare schemes introduced by the government.

6. To undertake sensitization and skill enhancement programs for lawyers.

7.To conduct surveys or research-based programs.
