WHO CAN AVAIL THESE SERVICES AND CRITERIA OF SCRUTINISING?
If a person falls in any of the following categories, then he/she can avail of free Virtual Legal Aid at Kartavyam: -
Is a person belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, or; Is a person having an annual income of Rupees 2,50,000
– or less for lower-income groups; Is a person having annual income of Rs 2,50,000-5,00,000 for middle-income groups; Members of socially and economically deprived sections, who:
Is a widow;
- Is a woman; and whose income falls within the above income bracket
(however, cases other than that bracket can be included given the discretionary decision of Kartavyam.)
Is a disabled person; Is a lunatic person; Is a victim of human trafficking, forced labor (beggar), violence, mass disaster, hate crime, environmental disasters; Is a child, i.e., below the age of 18 years,
Is a transgender; Is an ex-serviceman;
Anyone who would want to avail of services under the said legal aid cell, shall deposit a minimum fee of Rs 2,500 (administrative charges) on request under name of Kartavyam in form of Account Transfer and shall submit the necessary documents.
(Please submit documents with respect to proving the same for the criteria stated above, such as ration card, or account statements, or any other books of accounts).
